The State Duma postponed the adoption of the law on the CFA due to the requirements of the FATF

The State Duma postponed consideration of the draft law on digital financial assets due to the FATF requirements on the regulation of cryptocurrency instruments, as reports TASS.

The head of the financial market committee, Anatoly Aksakov, said that during the visit of the FATF mission, lawmakers failed to shrug off or bypass the requirements related to the settlement of cryptocurrencies and tokens, which are now actively used in the Russian market. Therefore, despite the position of the Central Bank, the adoption of the law on the CFA «hung», until this norm is introduced into its text or it is prescribed in a separate bill.

Earlier, due to disagreements among the working groups, it was decided to exclude the definitions of cryptocurrency, token and smart contract from the document.
