The first solar power plant with a capacity of 1 MW was put into operation in the Omsk region

Omsk Refinery «Gazprom Neft» completed the construction of a solar power plant on the territory of the plant. The station generates 1 MW of electricity and consists of 2.5 thousand solar panels.

The object was built in 4 months according to the development program «green» power engineers at the Omsk oil refinery. According to calculations, the annual electricity generation will amount to 1.2 million kWh – the same power is provided by a thermal power plant with the consumption of 1.8 thousand tons of coal. The generated electricity will provide power to the complex of administrative buildings of the Omsk plant. 

Solar modules placed on empty areas, on the facades of buildings and on the roofs of the plant. Implementation «green» energy will reduce the annual volume of CO2 emissions by 5 thousand tons, and improving energy efficiency will increase profits. According to the report «Gazprom Neft», improved energy efficiency saved  state corporation 4 billion rubles for 2013-2015.

Its own solar power plant was also built at the Volgograd refinery. The construction of the facility with a capacity of 10 MW lasted 7 months. In total, 38 solar power plants operate on the territory of Russia, and another 29 are at the design and construction stage..

Omsk Refinery produces more than 50 types of petroleum products, including new bitumen for roads.
