Four Ukrainians cheated on crypto exchanges

Ukrainian cyber police arrested four residents of Dnipro for stealing cryptocurrency using phishing sites of well-known cryptocurrency exchanges.

The scammers created their own websites that looked like well-known marketplaces. After clicking on the link to their resource, people entered their registration data. Attackers used the information received to log in under someone else’s account on real exchanges and withdraw funds from the account..

After stealing the cryptocurrency, they used exchange offices to convert virtual currency into fiat, and then transferred money to bank accounts that were also opened using the stolen data of other people’s identities. During their activity, cybercriminals managed to forge six sites of well-known cryptocurrency exchanges. The group consisted of four men from 20 to 26 years old, they have already been prosecuted for fraud.
