Beijing has developed a low-cost version of tactical attack drones that, when deployed, form a swarm to attack.
The new system allows you to quickly launch drones from the back of a truck or helicopter and control them remotely using a tablet.
The demo video shows the deployment of drones similar to China’s first tactical attack drone CH-901 with a length of 1.2 m and a mass of 9 kg. Despite its small size, it can travel at a speed of 150 km / h and is in the air for up to two hours before detonation. Swarm of CH-901 can be applied for attacking ground troops, tanks and other armored vehicles, and is also effective against air defense systems.
The technology is still in the testing phase due to communication and coordination issues with the swarm. China Academy of Electronics and Information Technology faces poor performance of their artificial intelligence.
Recall that the British military recently reported on the development of a drone with a shotgun for carrying out assault operations in urban environments.
